Eric,
Your Isabella x's from the 2 day soak, planted in soil on the heat mat continue to pop up daily. None of the 1 day soak or 3 day soak have popped up yet.
Of the crosses that you made with the Isabella which pollen donors seedings tend to sprout the earliest? I find this very fascinating and would like to be able to know.
Joydie
Eric, a question for you please
Joydie,
I must confess I set a few hundred seedpods to Isabella last year, but I must confess I hybridize with my favorite pollens to my favorite flowers. I make many crosses and then I select the ones I want the most for myself and only grow those. I tried germinating them all before and too many go to waste as I can't possibly grow them all. In other words, I wish and I dream of all the crosses I would like to make and then if I am lucky and I get all the crosses I want then I only plant the crosses I trully want the most. I like suaveolens x aurea type hybrids...but I love aurea x aurea and aurea x candida type hybrids more. Suaveolens x aurea x aurea would be nice as well though if it were a pink...or Suaveolens x aurea x candida....If this sounds confusing don't worry as it confuses me as well.
