Picture of Rapture

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

I have been growing Rapture and it is different from CG. Rapture is a soft pumpkin color with longer whiskers and the flower has a slick or glossy appearance.

Barbara,

Yours' is beautiful, but Glory's picture seems to have pink in all the flowers. Does yours'???

Thanks,

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

There is no pink in the flower. The color is unusual and very beautiful and the slick surface adds to the beauty.

Barbara, can you add it to my order? please ma'am?

Bward,, its like my aurea X Butterscotch..its the same way....so many crosses will eventually lead to very similar plants with different names. We need better records and all kinds of defining features recorded too to keep all these plants named and seperate..so confusing.. :-)

Hibiscus,
The picture I posted came from the LBJ site and it explains
all about Rapture.

Eclipse,
Is there anyway that a register could be started or some formal registering for Brugs the way other flowers are handled---without the expense of patenting? Although you have been involved in this area for years, only within the past several years has there been an increased interest in hybridizing these lovely flowers within the US. Thank you for your early and continued work in the field. We have all benefited from your work.

Bward....Thank you for the vote of confidence. We should and soon may have a registry for hybridizers to list their crosses and register their work. It won't make any monetary difference to them..but will keep names and hybrids recorded for future research and use.
:-)

Eclipse, Do you have any ideas as to how we can do this? Everyone in this group know it needs to be done.
