The brug cuttings that I have started are getting fairly large leaves. I have them in bright windows and am wondering if I should fertilize them. I haven't yet but didn't know if I should wait until I put them outside in the spring.Have been waging war with the spider mites, though. Yuck!! Thanks for any help.
To fertilize or not to fertilize
Lorie raise the humidity by spritzing the underside of the leaves with water to help with the mites. You can also use half and half water and alcohol with a squirt of dish soap to kill them but you will have to spray every three days for about 3 weeks to get rid of them. You can win the battle!!
I have my brugs in a green house and fertilize the cuttings as soon as they are rooted. I also fertilize my seedlings as soon as they have true leaves.(not the seed leaves that appear first)
Thank you Calalily. Is it also possible for them to bloom inside BEFORE spring? That might be asking too much. :)
Lorie, they could possibly bloom before spring. They must first make the "Y", then they will bloom.
What exciting news, Cala. Several of my cuttings have 'Y'ed. Yea!!!!!!!!!!!
Cala,
Got y's on the HG maybe it will bloom soon.
I'm starting to get Y's on some of mine. Isabella was open today and Jean Pasco any day now. Sunray has a bud as does the double white!!
