Sorry about the last mess, but it was a former man with hat and close. Don`t know, what became of it???

Tonny, sure glad you edited. I would have really wondered about you without the explanation. :-) I've put the smilies on here before and the eyes and nose would be on the right side of the post with the mouth on the left, so strange things do happen.

Ming, I hope your brug produces many blooms for you and you should be proud that you have grown from seed. Some of us don't have very good luck. I like the name you have chosen too. :-)

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

I am keeping my fingers crossed! thats for sure! Its so exciting when they push their little heads up for the first time ....

Mings,
I am honored.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Oh mingsmimi. It's beautiful. I'm still waiting for my first brug baby. It's only been 7 days though, so I think I have to wait awhile yet. Oh, the anticipation!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Waiting for these Brug seeds to sprout is more stressful than having a baby. When I was pregnant I don't remember running back and forth a million times a day to check on the progress.LOL

Gilmer, TX

It doesn't get any better MM. You will get very excited over each one. I just found brugs this summer, and have received seeds from several generous people. I rejoice over each one when those little heads pop up. Congrats!!!!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Congrats, now you'll be running to the store to pick out new pots for the baby!!!

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

And then there is the wondering if its going to have healthy brothers and sisters.....which I am sure it will with Glory as its donor grandma. lolol...It is very exciting though.

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

Congrats! I hope I do as well when my warming table's finished.

Mings,
You are so funny.:0)

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

OKAY! Its now november 1,2002
had to cut back the center one. It was sickly. the leaves were drooping and there was this web stuff on it?? Don;t think it spread to others. When am I gonna see something MAJOR happen?

Watch them all for spider mites. That is what probably made the one you cut back sick. I'd start spraying now with some kind of mite control. There are lots of suggestions in this forum for controling the mites.

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

thought it was spider mites. So, when does one bloom?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

You probably won't see bloom until next summer when you can get them outside. It will have to get much taller and make a Y. Onces it makes the Y, it won't be long before you have blooms. Good luck. Be sure to fertilize a lot once you put them outside in the spring. I don't use much fertilizer in the house as I don't want them to get tall and spindly. Hope that is a word. :-)

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

EW! Well, thats how the center one got the spider mites. Living out side this summer. and it turned all yellowish. It was a mess. poor thing. Where I live, we don;t get much sun. like 35 days a year. Its horrible. Always gloomy . I think we get lots of acid rain though......and our cancer rate is 5 times the national average . OOOPS. I digress.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Since we are on the subject of bugs . . this is kinda cute!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

35 days a year? You better move. I couldn't take that.

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

brugie~yep! Its awful. I swear things don;t grow well here because of it. We all run to the windows when the sun comes out. So many people are on anti-depressiants. i bet thas why. That why we have the Air-bases here. cant see them from the air cuz if all the cloud cover. (So I have been told)
Waterloo lily-I was so afraid to cut it back. But. i didn;t want to toss it away. Firgure it was worth a shot.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

mings, If you are going to keep them in the house I think you'll see a big difference if you put them in bigger pots. When they are kept in smaller pots they tend to stay stunted. I had two seedlings that were about 8" high and I planted one in the ground and left the other in the small pot.The one in the pot grew to about 15" and the one in the ground grew to 7 feet high.

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

I just transplanted them about 12 weeks ago. ...the one in the middle is in a huge pot . the ones on the ends. 8 inch. think I should transplant the end ones again? they won;t go into shock>I have never fed either, but, the soil they are in is supposed to have all sorts of goodies in it.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Yes mings I think you'll see a big difference if you put the other two in bigger pots. I start my small seedlings in 1 gal. pots and as soon as they have a good root system they go into 5 gal. or bigger pots. Some here start them right off in 5 gal. pots.Even though I have pelleted fertilizer in the soil I still use Peter's or Miracle Grow once a week while they are growing. Everyone has their own way but this works for me.

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

REALLY! That big of a pot! Well! I guess I have lots to do this weekend then. thanks! I DID notice a big difference getting them just into the pots that they are in now. I didnt think I needed to go that large. thanks for the info. :)

(Zone 7b)

mings, that is one cute seedling! I just started my first seedling recently too.. nothing like seeing their little heads pop out of the soil. Mine is a sang I got from ebay. Good luck with yours :)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh Mings.......... go for the bloom now............how exciting!!

waterloolily........LOL!!

Mings,
You are doing a very nice job with the seedling. Take Snows advice and it will bloom before you know it.

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

glory! I hope you saw the photo half way down the page. these are your seeds ya know! I will transplant this week! I am afraid to harm them though. they are so tall already.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Ming, Congratulations, that looks like a nice healthy
seedling. I have lots of seedlings growing and they are
not all that fragile, so don't be afraid to repot it. My first seed planted brug. has a bud on it. I am just hoping that it blooms before we get a heavy frost. It is really hard waiting for that first flower.

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

Sounds like these babies need a bigger home then. I'll just go s-l-o-w! Thanks for info

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

see center Brug Nov 1 posting.~~ I went up to transplant today. (they are in my stain glass studio upstairs). The center one was covered in these teenie weenie brown moving bugs. must of been like 400,000,001 of them on it. Made me so sad. I took it out on the porch.Hope it didnt; spread to the other 2.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

They have spider mites Ming. Look on the underside of the leaves on the other two. They will probably have them too if they were close together. Wash the leaves under water and spray them with some mite spray. You can save them.

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

mite spray/ Did n;t know of such a thing. Never really thought about it. Thanks . I'l keep ya posted. Its so sad. :(
