I was just looking at the pictures I took on our Olympus 2040-Z digital camera, so I know they were there and fine. But now, when I put the Dane smartmedia card into the SanDisk USB reader, it showed zero files. I ran Norton Utilities on the smartmedia's drive it and it created a directory structure, but the directories are void of any files.
When I put the card back in the camera, the first thing I see is the FORMAT screen on the LED. I cancelled out of that! Has anyone had this problem, and if so, were you able to recover your images?
I'd like to do a complete copy of whatever contents there are on the smartmedia card into a folder on my hard drive so I can fiddle with the disk -- But I'm afraid of losing the data completely. Fortunately, the pictures were of our friend's greyhound and our dogs playing together, so it's not like they're irreplaceable family heirlooms!
