I was just relaxing a minute, browsing the site because my DH went to the doctor to see if there was anything that could be done about all the congestion he was having. He must have felt pretty bad otherwise he would not have gone (man thing - I don't need a doctor). Anyway, I just got a call and he is being put in the hospital with pneumonia. I am waiting for my daughter to pick me up and take me the the Emergency Care Center where he is waiting for a transfer ambulance. Got to run, she should be here any minute. If any of you feel that you have the flu - - don't wait to see a doctor!
Be Careful of Flu

Oh, bless his heart! I just went through this with Kenny! It's so good your DH and the dr. caught it! I hope he gets well soon!
BrugNanny's right ~ I had a touch of it last summer, so even if it's not flu season and you feel bad, like someting's just not right, go to the dr.!
I hope he's okay, let us know!
Hope he gets well soon.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery - that sounds too Hallmark - BrugNanny - give him a big (((())) to keep him warm.
Thanks for the warm get well wishes for my DH. I am leaving for the hospital early this morning to check on him and to take him his newspaper and other personal hygiene items. He does have pneumonia and he is on IV fluids, IV antibiotics and breathing treatments. They said he would probably be there for two or three days. I am so glad that he went to the doctor yesterday and did not put it off any longer. I know that he will be much better soon. The support of all you really means a lot.

Frannie, Hope he makes a speedy recovery and is home before you know it.
MaVie, Ginger tea is good for an upset stomach too. The captain that takes DH fishing recommends it for sea sickness.
Get Well Wishes coming from Georgia. Hope your Hubby gets better real soon!!! Traci S
Wow,good thing he went when he did, hope he's doing better!!!And don't run yourself down and end up sick too!!!
I hope Your DH is back on the mend and can come home soon.
good warning for people to go to the doctor, terrible to think of what could have happend.
You be sure to get plenty of rest too, often times the care giver runs herself ragged....and when you're exhausted, your immune system is run down and susceptible to just about any germ/virus that is floating in the air, and you know hospitals are full of them.....
So, take care of yourself too...
that is true Cala. whenever i am about to i take slices of ginger w/me just in case i feel sick. fibers of the ginger aids in cleaning those slimy stuff that clings along the esophagus down to the lining of the stomach. ginger tea is a preventive measure in the orient from acquiring bad cold or flu during the winter months.
BrugNanny i hope u & ur husband the best wishes. hope ur DH recovers soon.
Frannie,
Hope you husband is doing better today....let us know.
DH was feeling somewhat better yesterday. Doctor says he will probably be able to come home Sunday. Who knows, it could possibly be today, if his fever is gone. I had a miserable night last night - coughed all night and so much congestion in my head. You would know that this would happen to me on a Saturday . . . no Dr. appointments. I will have to wait until Monday. Hopefully, it is just a head and chest cold and does not go into an upper respiratory infection. I don't feel too bad, so I don't think it is the flu. Thanks for all the get wells for hubby. I really appreciate the concern of all.
HOpe he feel better today. You too.. :)
