More seedling difference

These are mixed seeds. I bought these from Earl @ Valleygrow. I soaked these, didn't peel. Transplanted the ones that were up and had true leaves. I searched thru the soil and found a few good seeds which I repotted in fresh dirt.(ProMix)Ok, I admit, I was trying my best this day to stay busy and leave the pods alone!! (It looks like I was standing on my head doesn't it?)

Cala, how long on the average is it taking for your seeds to sprout and show? I'm just not having good luck at all right now. Mat or now mat, they aren't germinating and I did a no, no. Yesterday I dug through the pots and can't find signs of anything even in the pot. Did find a few unpeeled seeds in one of the pots, but the rest are like they just disappeared. No signs of bugs or worms. Has me baffled.

Brugie, Don't feel bad. I have been waiting for three very special seeds to germinate and also peeked into the dirt yesterday. These seeds were injured by the postal service in transit but I was hoping they would take. They also had dissapeared from the soil(rotted). It seems the past two weeks the germination has slowed down.Maybe they heard the groundhog saw six more weeks of winter and they're in no hurry to show they're little heads. LOL

Brugie, hope you repotted those you found in different soil.

I had some that I planted back in Nov. that still weren't coming up. I dug into the soil, found several seeds still not sprouted and tried to peel them. Do not try this at home, I found that they had little roots/embryos when I peeled into them and I think I killed them.
Eric, on average about 3 weeks to germinate. I've got some seed planted 12-24 and they are just now sprouting. I didn't soak them, because they were just harvested that day. I soaked the ones Arlene sent me and they came up I'm thinking in 2 weeks. I soaked them.
Maybe Kyle or Monika can tell us what we're doing wrong.

I have discovered that some sort of insect crawls into the seed sometimes and devours the inside of the seed. Thus one gets hollow seeds. I have also found that seeds I have planted and left alone in the seed trays have came up a year later when simply left outside. The majority of my seeds generally come up within a few months time though. I refuse to peel seeds without a darn good reason. Anyone have any idea how long it would take to peel even 4000 seeds prior to planting them?

I've got a pretty good idea......forever....I think I stopped at about 150 one time, and I thought my hands would never uncramp!
