Here are the large cuttings/stems I laid on their sides to root. They look great don't they? Oh Rats!! I can't see the date in this one either!! These were just bare stems with little dormant buds where leaves were. I laid them on their sides and covered them with soil. I then watered in with the tea tree oil and put on the heat mat. I'm having much better luck with the mat set at 72* than at 65*. Funny how a few degrees can make a difference.

Cala, They do look great. What a good way to get several plants out of one stem. Good job!
Wow, look nice, thanks for posted it.
Did you just lay the whole stem down or cut it in to pieces before planting...of course making sure there was at least 1 bud per little piece?
Cala,
They really look great. I am going to to try that soon.
Cala,
How many days for them to root and sprout again? I really like Brugman's method of planting. I'm having good luck with the heat mat as well but of course up here we have REAL winter and the furnace running. I normally turn the heat down at night for sleeping, but I found that my brugs were dropping their leaves like crazy. I put a small heater in front of the stand with the brugs and the bare stems are setting leaves again.
Still waiting on something to pop up from your seeds. Hope at least one does okay. I destroyed 2 of them trying to figure out how to peel them so I'm not going to use that method again. I just did the one day soak with yours and planted them. They were my first seeds and of course I kept them too wet and a couple more rotted. So now I'm just keeping them slightly moist. I hope this works out better.

Here is where I took the cuttings (big long cuttings) and laid them on their side. I also did some later and they were small pieces with one eye. I'm seeing which one works better.http://davesgarden.com/showthread/170973.html

I guess any kind of pot will work, as long as it is big enough to lay the cutting down. For the little cuttings, I just used a 4.5" pot.
