Mdyod, welcome to Dave's Garden. You will love it here. I knew West Monroe well long ago. I grew up there. I lived on N. 7th street for many years and then moved out on the Old Natchitoches Rd. on what what I think is now Franklin Lane. My name was Ellen Franklin back then. I went to Crosley grammar school and Ouachita High for three years. West Monroe High was built about that time so my last year was spent at the brand new high school. I graduated in the very first graduating class in 1954. I moved away and came to Tennessee shortly after that and have never been back to Louisiana. I was hoping there would be a reunion of that first class someday but it has never happened that I know of. The class will celebrate the 50th year anniversary in 2004. How I would love it if someone would organize a reunion and I would be there with bells on. Please keep your ear to the ground while you are gardening (ha) and if you ever hear of such an event please let me know.
