Not a Brug...But??

Mukwonago, WI(Zone 5a)

I have to give this plant a haircut today and would be happy to root a few of the cuttings for anyone who might be interested. I'd be happy to send them (if all goes well) later in the spring.

Ruby,
Very pretty...I just cut mine back yesterday too.

Oh wow, this is the pretty Jacobinia or Firecracker plant. I have one that a friend gave me last fall. They are pretty easy to root, not only from the stems but the leaves too. Yours is so beautiful and full.

Mukwonago, WI(Zone 5a)

I do love this plant. I just feel so bad when I have to toss viable stems in the trash. Sort of a sick feeling inside. I'm hoping someone wants to give them a home

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Don't toss them, if you don't find new homes for them soon, I will sure take them. Put them in water for a few days.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Wow,thats gorgeous! Are you going to prune again in late spring????

Northern Piedmont, NC(Zone 7b)

I would love to have cuttings. I lost mine last winter when the gh heater ran out of gas and I never saw another one to replace it. Just let me know about postage and such.

CC...I have been pruning it only once a year around this time. The foliage and stems get so thick and begin to turn black and then die (probably lack of oxygen?).

JJ... AZ You are welcome to them. Now that I know they will be used...I won't have to toss them [happy me]. Will start them today.

I'm still kinda new here...How does this work? Will you be emailing your address to me?

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

It seems you are going to have enough takers - so I will back out since I already have one. Yes, every one should email you privately with their addy, but they need yours to send you postage($3.50)first.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

i saw a yellow last year, they are awfully pretty.

Mukwonago, WI(Zone 5a)

Oh Yes Arlene...that yellow is just lovely. I had a white one and one that had purple blossoms with variegated leaves. Note the "had". I don't know what I did wrong there LOL
However the pink has the fullest blossom flush twice in summer.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

I will give some a try if there is any left. Thanks either way!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

That is a gorgeous plant, I would like some cuttings too if you have any left,

Azusa, CA

So glad to have been able to share this plant with all of you. Hopefully I will have more next year. I don't want to promise more than I can send ...so I gues closing this thread would be the thing to do.

Hey, can we open this thread back up long enough to answer a quick question? I have some seeds and on the envelope it just says "Jacobinia-Pink" Am I to assume that they will look like this plant???? Also can anyone give me a few tips on starting them from seed?
Thanks in advance!!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Hmmmmm, never grown them from seed. I didn't even know they made seed. Hope someone comes along and gives you an answer.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

after seeing the picture above and looking at the seeds....I can't believe they are even one in the same!! I opened the seed package and it looks more like dried green leaves and no seeds that I can see at all.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Ah Molly, that's sad, I bet someone here will share a cutting with you though.

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

I have a pink one and white one that I am trying to get through the winter. If they make it I can send you cuttings. They looked like they were growing in the snow at RT's but they sure don't like the cold here. Mollybee send me your email and I will let you know when I send them. shouldn't be too much longer. Days are getting warmer and the nights are not as cold. (but this is March, who knows what it can bring)

Arlene, I have tried to grow the yellow one from cuttings twice, but they always died, so I tried another company, so far they are doing great. Keep your fingers crossed that they hang in there. The yellow is gorgeous.

Thanks DeeinFl, you got mail! You're the best!
