Snowhermit,
Your pkg arrived just in time before winter finally arrived here. Thank you for your kindness.

My dear Miss TiG, will wait and post SASE in the spring when the snow is gone. Don't want to have to worry about receiving frozen seeds. Whahhhhhhhhh, I was hoping we wouldn't get winter...LOL as if that might happen.

Owen,
Many thanks and will enjoy the seeds IF I get them to sprout. Grrrrrr I'm hoping I'm not brug seed germination challenged and develop a complex.

Cala,
Much thanks to you as well. Patiently waiting trying hard not to poke at the soil and disturb the seeds. Made a promise to myself NOT TO TOUCH THE SEED POTS UNTIL MID FEBRUARY AND TO STOP PEEKING AT THE POTS 2 TIMES A DAY.

My Equador pinks look really sad. The leaves have all fallen off and I gave them towels to cover their "nekkid" stalks. I'm don't want my grand daughter to see their X-rated nudity.

My one and only Jean Pasco is now finally taking off. Hurrayyyyyyy!! I discovered a couple who are fellow lover of Brugmansia here in the city where I live. They are going to share cuttings of their pink and a white for some of my yellows and peaches. I know we are going to become lifelong friends as they are also now addicted to brugs after having their first plants last year.

Looking forward to trading again in the spring since Canada can still trade with the U.S. until June of 2002. I really do enjoy all of the marvellous people in this group.

Wow, thanks for that info Joydie. I was not aware we could still trade with Canada. I can't wait. I will have to get some plants up to snuff for a few early trades in April-May. I like sending large packages when I can.

Glad they made it Joydie before the big freeze.

(Zone 6a)

Joyce, now you can eat big plump ripe 'maters outside as you work in your brug patch:) Let's just hope those tomato seeds like it in their new country:)

Joydie, Can plants still be sent from Canada too or is it just seeds that's allowed into the US?

Hamilton, Canada

Snowhermit,
I have a licence and can send plants with a phytocertificate without any problem. I have checked and Canada can ship plants into the U.S. with phyto until June of 2002 without a problem as long as they are/were grown in Canada or originally from the U.S. and grown in Canada. I checked all of this when I applied for my permits.

All of my plants and seeds are originally from the U.S. and I saved the green postal labels as instructed by Africultural Canada for documentation so I will not have problems shipping back at some future date.

Brugmansia,
You can ship plants to Canada and seeds without any problems. I thought that people were aware of that. If you need details email me. Oh PUHLEEZ put me on your shipping list for April/May. (would get on my knees and grovell (spell check), but my knees are injured)

I'll cover all the costs for shipping and packaging and toss in a little extra for your time growing and hybridizing and all that kinda stuff.

Owen,
I LOVE tomatoes and I'm looking forward to trying new varieties again this year. I'm really community minded. Everyone grows tomatoes up here and by the end of the summer they have had their fill of them and often you see them just left on the vines to rot. I leave notes in people's mail boxes suggesting that they donate their surplus tomatoes and vegetables to the food banks.

Layoffs are hitting hard here. The largest casting plant went bankrupt in November. It was American owned. The Ford truck plant just laid off about 1,000 people a month ago and today in the news GM laid off 980 people. Its going to be a rough economy this year as the layoffs and bankrupties continue.

I'm going to plant lots this year and can and freeze up veggies and tomato sauce again this year. I usually get hit up by my family for my jam so its almost all gone. The fruits of course went the fastest so I better do lots more this year. I think I will have to put in central air though if I do it on a larger scale...well I'm off topic so I better stop.
