i think, at this point, i have all i can handle.
my only goal this year is to take care of what i have. i have all intentions of getting them ALL in the ground.
i also intend on pollinating every bloom. im looking for a netting that will be small enough that no bugs, moths, butterflies, etc will be able to penetrate so that i can try controlled pollination of the double white with nothing more than ecquador pink.
man its a long time til spring

MSJen, The dbl white you sent me is growing big. It has the nicest velvety leaves on it. I have high hopes they will bloom this summer.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

What I want is to be able to identify the ones I already have that didn't bloom last year.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

All I want is for the seeds that Glory sent me to come up and have leaves. This is my first time trying brugs and I want to do good so I can be addicted too. I'm already planning where to plant them. Do they need sun or shade? Trellis? I know nothing about them except that they must be really neat for so many people to have caught the disease. LOL!

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

snow, youll love it when it blooms. it smells heavenly!!
im glad to know its doing great!
jen
liz, me too on the id..i have 3 or 4 that havent bloomed in 2 years. they have this summer to bloom and if they dont, to the compost they go. also anything that resembles frosty pink and cg/jo/ds will go to the north 40, with the exception of 1 of each, whichever they are. im tired of wasting fertilizer on them lol

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Oh my - tiG, Calla, Arlene and Gloria? have you all gone to bed back there? JoanJ - trellis not required. They stand tall and strong. All you're going to need is a supportive family who will be able to cook their own meals and do their own laundry. A family who will be able to put up with dust bunnies and last night's dishes. You'll be TOO BUSY with your babies.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

amen to that Liz!!! lots of water, time to water and check them for watering. that consumed my summer last year!!! hoping to have enough watersorb stuff to go around this year!

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Thanks for the info. My family will adjust. LOL! I just started landscaping this 5 acres last summer and they all did just fine. They will soon come to realize that Mom's the chauffer, cook, cleaner, washer and everything else most of the year, but I'm going to part-time in the summer. Now to put this thread back to it's original intent, I still just want the brug seeds that Gloria sent me to come up and have leaves. I'll move forward from there.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I want my seed pods to get ripe!!! I would love to have Rosa Traum, Angel's Dream and any new versicolors. Oh yes and a Flava and an Arborea just to say I have them. Did I mention I want my seed pods to get ripe??

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Cala, I've already got your flava and arborea started.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Susie

I have 5 Rosa Traum started, all I need is to get them to grow bigger! One for sure, is yours!

Gloria

Hamilton, Canada

I would live to try flava and volcana seeds to go with my arborea. Right now I just want my seeds to sprout and that's about it.

As for a wish list of varieties...welllllllllll I want all of Monika's doubles and a few others so I'm putting aside money for them...then I would like a HUGE greenhouse to accommodate all the brugs...a new van for deliveries...will have to sell some to pay the heat bill for the greenhouse and 2 part time staff for the summer.

Joydie

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Joydie, if you got the pre-packaged seeds from Gwist unfortunately they aren't arborea. Arborea seeds are lots bigger than regular brug seeds. Mine said arborea on the package, but they aren't unfortunately. It's hard to find a source for the real thing. All the ones from that package grew up to look just like sauveolens. :(

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Liz, you are so right! "what is more important, me or those plants?" from my kids.... I am with MsJen, i really have to get all these babies in permanent homes, in the ground or large pots. have too many already for the ground unless that chain gang will come do it for me. have been collecting large pots at yard sales. and have trades already for more to come in the next couple of months.

Liz,
Here I am...went to bed early last night.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

The brugs that I am hoping to aquire this year are the sanguinea which I'm going to order from native habitat, and a double of any kind, and maybe a shredded one.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

pebble, i can help you with the double white. i also have shredded white, alhtough i have to see if it makes it through the winter. i just cant do anything until fall..man that seems like a long way off
let me know
jen

Joan...how far are you from Minot? Have a young friend there the winters are killing her...she is from South Ms too.....her DH is in the AF.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

My wish list is Equador Pink and whiskers. Both of those look really pretty in the pictures I have seen.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

MsJen, thank you. I'll mail you directly.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Glory, Minot is about 250 miles from me. I'm in the southwestern part of the state and Minot is in the north central part. Winters can be viscious here alright, but this winter has been unseasonably warm. Since we haven't had a lot of snow, I'm afraid the summer is going to be dry too. If your friend's DH is in the air force, they probably won't have to stay here forever. I would think that if she is from MS, she probably is hating the North Dakota winters alright. I'm a native and even I hate them. LOL!

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

roz, i have both of those too, but im forcing you to tromp through the back 40 to get them, lol
i want to see you frollicking through the daisys, lol
really, call me and well talk.
jen

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Oh! there are so many to list - DG's might run out of memory if I did. LOL I have a very good start with the cuttings that I have received from members at Dave's and I am so thankful for all of them. I plan to order some and hopefully, I will have something that I can share back with others.

Hamilton, Canada

TiG,
Your Arborea seeds from Gwist were they in a package from Select Seeds in Sweden? If so would you let me know and I will relabel them. These seeds look like big seeds to me...much bigger than the ones that I have received from other people.

Joydie

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

yes, with a white brug with red flowers growing underneath. Maybe yours will turn out to be right, the leaves will tell. Tonny posted pictures of the seeds not too long ago, they are MUCH bigger.

Hamilton, Canada

TiG,
Sounds like the package I received. I better make a note on the package for when I plant them as they probably will turn out to be Suaveolens brugs.

Joydie

Florence, AL(Zone 7a)

I want an Ecuador Pink and a 'Species' that lives! I've killed WAAAY more of both of these that you can imagine, and I can't figure out why they die. Nearly everything else I get my hands on lives. *sigh*
