Yes, we need pictures!! We live vicariously thru other brug addicts in the winter, especially when they live in warmer climates.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

WOW... GREAT FOR YOU AND SHOW US PHOTO IF CAN. =)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Bring on the pictures. I've not seen either of these brugs.

Altamonte Springs, FL(Zone 9a)

Okay, for all you brug addicts....here's some pics.....two of the Miami Orange Glow and one of the Miami Double White in bud. I have a couple others but the site I am using says they are too big to upload, so I need to doctor them up and put them on later.

Sorry I am not the best photog, nor is my camera that great.....but this should get you all dreaming of a green spring!!!!

You will have to cut and paste. Some day I will get efficient at all this:)

Pretty blooms. Is this anything like Charles Grimaldi? I didn't see any blooms on the double white one. Maybe it wasn't blooming,,,,,,,or maybe I need glasses. Sure look healthy. Keep up the good work. If you put the http:// in front of the www. whatever, it should hyperlink.

Well, that didn't work very well, did it? Just use all the letters that your address bar shows that come before the www

Miami Orange Glow appears to have a lot of versicolor in it, but it also appears to have some aurea and suaveolens as well. Does anyone know the parentage of that one? Just wondering...Lol, someone will come along and tell me I am all wrong of course. Only way to find out though is to ask.

I knew that I had seen this before on the Valleygrow website. Here is the description of Miami Orange Glow that they give:

BRUGMANSIA X HYBRIDS

Mehrfacht Hybrids (B. aurea X B. Suaveolens X B. VersicolorJ)

You hit it right on the button Brugmansia!!

I did get the Miami Orange Glow from Earl at Valley Grow....the Miami Double is blooming yet..just putting out lots of buds

Brugie...could you explain about putting the hyperlink in front of the www......would I do it this way

I am so amazed at how all of you can recognize parentage etc in a brug.....I am still at the "IT'S A BRUG" stage. I need to learn more about the different families of brugs....that will be my next project.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I edited my post because it didn't work like I thought it would. It wasn't supposed to hyperlink with those few letters. Just use all the letters like it shows in your address bar. Some will hyperlink with just the www but others require the total letters, // before the www
Hope this helps.
Found this that will give you the real scoop on typing in a hyperlink. http://davesgarden.com/showthread/180827.html

Brugnanny,
What can I say, I am a lucky guess. The long calyx is indicative of a versicolor in the mix even though it is not in the standard versicolor shape as far as the calyx goes. The corolla goes out in a slight v indicative of suaveolens and the shortened lenght of the corolla goes back to aurea...not to mention the serrated leaves are indicative of an aurea x versicolor cross...Rambling on...

You keep on rambling Eric, because when you do, we keep on learning.

Thanks Brugie...the http:// (letters for) worked......

I read today that brugs have more flowers etc during a full moon, and that is when this one started to bloom!!!!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Yes, keep rambling on Eric....I'll keep printing and pretty soon I will have a great reference book. When I have those "senior moments" (LOL) and I can't recall the detail that I need - I can refer to my new reference book that has been filled with such great information.

I've learned some of the differences in the different varieties/species of brugs from listening to Eric, still so much to learn. Keep on rambling, but I do think that rambling is contageous.

oh so pretty. i can't wait till mine bloom. My Dat's are blooming like crazy but no Brug yet.:(

Altamonte Springs, FL(Zone 9a)

She opened two more blooms yesterday afternoon.....these plants work fast, one minute nothing and then poof!!! The fragrance last night was so wonderful. I walked out back to admire the blooms and from 20 feet away this intense lilac type fragrance.....had to have everybody come out and sniff.

And I agree...Eric keep rambling....there is so much for me to learn!
