Hoegger Supply sells DE for 5.25 per 5 pounds.This is insecticide (food)grade.It is slightly different from the kind used in swimming pools.
They also sell other interesting stuff like kelp powder.

The stuff should store forever.We keep it on hand and some bags havn't come to the top of the pile for several years
and were still fine.Some of you are saying that you are not having good results with DE.The swimming pool grade is milled differently(smoother)while the other is sharper.It works well for any hard shelled insect but is harmless to soft bodied types.

Hey JT, I was just being a smarty when I said that. I'm so glad to know of another place that is so much cheaper. I found that they do have a web site, but it isn't set up yet for online ordering. Did send them an email, but haven't heard back yet, so will probably have to give them a call later in the week to order. Thanks for putting this information out for us. There seem to be a lot of people using DE now.

Just a thought in passing---this sharper kind is also good for de-fleaing your dogs. Just rub it into their coats about once a week. But DO NOT do this if the dog sleeps on your bed, LOL!
