It is not completely opened yet. I think this is one Brugman will like because it is kind of a smallish flower.
Color: so far it is cream color. I will take another picture in a day or so.
Golden Lady#2
Gosh, who wouldn't like that one. When you get an over stock, let me know. I'd love to trade you for one or more of something I'll have later........S
Wow! That's a beautiful flower.
Beautiful! Eric is sure to love that one - it's an aurea.
OK Gloria, are you trying to pull my leg, is there such a thing as a double pink, I couldn't find anything on them, or if there is what is the name of it. I am bound and determined to get you something you don't have and would like to have.
Liz, have a question, I usually come up to Tacoma, WA once a year. Last time I went I drove up to Vancouver, BC, it took about 4 or 5 hours, but had a couple of stops in between. I know that you can't mail the brugs to the US, however, if you drive, into Canada, can you drive with them back into the US??? Dee
Off the subject, but I'm wondering why it says on the Brug and Friends forum that there have been 0 replies to this thread. Says only 4 people have viewed it and I've been here that many times myself.
Simply beautiful Gloria. Of course I am partial to smaller flowers when it comes to Brugmansia...the smaller the flower the better.
Liz,
I don't know what this brug is crossed with but it is cute.
Dee,
I was just pulling your leg. LOL
Glory, what kind of pollen are you using to mate this beauty with???
Golden Lady:
Hybridizer: Emma Neu, Edenkoben
Flower: Cream to Yellow
Length: 23-25 cm
Characteristics: Empfindliche, schwachwuchsige hybrid. Bei geschjtztem Standort guter Blutenansatz
Maybe Tonny will translate the last part for you. I think it is a b. aurea cross b. versicolor = b x candida
My german is very limited but I'm learning with Tonny's help. Very beautiful flower indeed. This info came from Monika's book
I just got the aurea part from the Hodnik catalogue.
That is beautiful! Do you know how this brightens up our lives here? Can't wait until spring to see our brugs blooming again. I have nothing that can compare to this tho' NOW, get us a bright double pink!
Thanks for sharing.
Gloria
Itis very pretty and I bet it really brightened your day.
Show us more pictures as it opens.
I have a Jean Pasco blooming right now...maybe I'll give that cross a try.
That sounds like a winner. My J. Pasco is yellow/orange/red bottom. Wish I had something double to try with it.
I have heard that Jean Pasco throws out some very large flowered seedlings from another hybridizer. I have not actually hybridized with it though. Other hybrids I have heard that throw out large flowered hybrids are Frosty pink and Jamaican yellow. I might of expected that out of Frosty pink as I had a number of very white and semi large flowers from that hybrid, but Jamiacan yellow I would not have guessed at having produced any flowers with a significant size.
Thats on my wish list!I love that!Cross it to anything you think would enhance the color.
Hubiscus,
Candida species and Monte Blanche are both doubles that you should find extremely easy to set seed on. Some of the other doubles like HG are measurably harder to set seed on.
Hibiscus, your Jean Pasco sounds lovely, do you have a picture of it?
and glory, your golden lady is gorgeous.
Glory, JP sounds great to me, both ways? you lucky lucky girl!
I'm getting ready to post Picture #3 of GL...when y'all get tired of looking at these let me know...
Never get tired of looking at brug blooms.
What a treat for the eyes!! Can hardly wait to see the next shot. Right now... I'm looking at a 4 foot stick with a branched "Y". It only becomes Jean Pasco in the summer!!!
Renee
OOPS...there it is. How'd I miss that? It's even prettier than the first ones.
When you use Jean Pasko as a pollen parent it can throw some amazingly huge flowered progeny.I use my White Jean pasko hybrid to get larger flowers on many seedlings. When this hybrid white first bloomed it was almost dinner plate sized. It also has that characteristic swollen calyx like Jean Pasko.
Hello Eclipse! You sound like you have a lot of propagating experience. Tell us more ~~
Glad to see you Eclipse, I can't wait to begin to learn some more from you. As they say, the learning has just begun. I'm so excited, I just can't hide it. Ahh, so good to see you in here.

I've just been informed that we're in the presence of brug greatness. I, for one, feel very honoured that you've come to join us Eclipse. Please don't say anything important until I can change my printer cartridge.
Would it help Kyle to get to know us better if we each wrote just a short tidbit about what we are planning to do or what we have done with our brugs? We all know each other and just thought it might bring him up to speed. I know it took me a while to figure out who was who when I first came here. Maybe should be a new thread though. Where is tiG when I need her?
Brugcrazy, sorry for not notice this earlier.
"Empfindliche, schwachwuchsige hybrid. Bei geschjtztem Standort guter Blutenansatz" is
Tender, weak growing hybrid. Grow in protected site. Good blooming capacity.
Eclipse, glad to meet you finally and welcome on board :)
Does the tip about using Jean Pasko also work on Brug. species/hybriids with somewhat larger flowers like, for instance B. versicolor?
I'm so upset with myself. I either let the brugs get a little too dry or too chilled (accidentaly left the green house door open one night) and every single pod I had from Jean Pasco, both as seed and pollen donor fell off. It does have more buds on it though and I'm saving some pollen from Whiskers!! (thanks to TiG reminding me)
