Hey, hey - I finally remembered again to type this in before going to bed so all you morning people (shudder!) can start fresh with an encouraging word!

I forgot to mention yesterday that we received a care package from a friend in Switzerland. It wasn't more to-die-for Swiss chocolate this time, though. Whew!! It was two packages of raclette* cheese, a very mild cheese which they melt and serve over boiled potatoes, pearl onions and other things. We melted about an ounce or two and had it on a few crackers - we just had to. But the rest is in the freezer for another time. It's a special gift from her and not really tempting to just eat - we want to use it for something special. :o)

Now, if she'd sent more of that chocolate, we'd be in deeeeeep doo doo!! ...More below.

Today's Scripture: Job 11:14-15 -- http://bible.whitinger.net/showverse.php3?vid=13123

A vegetarian friend of mine went to a party and was handed a plate filled with wonderful appetizers. He selected one, took a bite, and then - to everyone's surprise - he threw the remainder across the room with all his might. He stood with a stunned and bewildered look on his face. The appetizer had been filled with meat, and his immediate reaction was to throw it as far away as possible. I think of that whenever I am tempted to grab something to eat that I shouldn't have. In my mind, I have to throw it far away, acting like it is something terrible, so I won't give into the temptation.

Today's Thought: I will put far away anything that tempts me this day!

Boy, kinda sounds like people would think we're having a food fight at the burger joint, LOL! But I can sure see his point. I've heard this phrase: It's not a sin when the birds of temptation fly over your head - it's a sin when you let them build a nest in your hair! :-D
