Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm going through brugmansia withdrawal. Need pictures, old or new. I'm posting my latest discovery. Now, you can really tell that I'm bored. :-)

Shirley,
girl you had better come down here before March....you need some activity. LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Aren't I awful. I need help, I tell ya. We are so cold now and it is going to snow tomorrow. I've got to find another hobby to take up my spare time. I even baked a key lime pie today out of boredom.

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I was thinking that you make owens cake again

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

No Irish, I might have a little something on special ocassions, but I'm a Pepsiolic.

Key Lime Pie....oh that's my favorite....When I go to the Casinos here in Biloxi to eat I always get the pie first....just in case they run out before I can get back for desert. LOL

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Do you go to the casinos just to eat? Are they very far from your home? I have never been to the one in Biloxi but I hear that it is really nice.

Shirley, I had a couple of those last year, the pink and blue, but when I woke up they were gone.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Brugie - nice colour. All that's missing is the little faces and wings. Little angel brugs - OK - I'm losing it too. Every week I feed mine, they grow leaves, I cut off all the leaves, check for bugs, start all over - feed, cut, check. These puppies need to go outside and grow BIG!.

Frannie,
No, I just don't go to eat most of the time I just make my donation and then go home. I think the closest Casino is about 10 miles from me.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

calla and liz - You guys have been in Owen's cake!LOL.Now if your going to dream of colored brugs go for bi-color doubles.....

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

How about a pink and blue striped one, or a pink and blue double? Or for Tennessee colors, orange with white inside double.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I'm thinkin Purple and red,like a fuchsia

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Liz, Do you strip off ALL the leaves? It seems this year all I've been doing is battling mites and fungus knats.Next year I've got to do something different.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Snow, sprinkle some diatomaceous earth on top of the soil for the fungus gnats. Strip any big leaves that are infested with the mites and spray the rest with Safer's soap or an alcohol/water combo. You will have to spray every three days or so for about three weeks to break their life cycle and get rid of them.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Cala Thanks. I've gone through two bottles of Safers so far but I've been spraying about every ten days. Guess I wasn't sprayng soon enough.I looked in WalMart and the local garden stores for diatomaceous earth and no one around here has it. Been drenching with TTO and that helps for the knats but in a few days I see them starting to fly around again.Sigh...If only summer was here I could keep them hosed down.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

If you have an Agway check there.thats were I get mine.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Okay, who has Cala's pink and blue brug? Wasn't me. I'm too far away.

I just ordered some DE from Shumway's. It is too far to drive to the city to get it. Concern brand and about $9. They also had a good deal, I thought, for Osmocote. Five pounds for 12 or 13 dollars. For our area, it is a good price anyway and the shipping is minimal.

(Zone 6a)

Brugie, I am raising one that is all colors of the rainbow:) From Tragedy seeds.....how is that for confidence?

Owen

PS: Soaked some of those seeds for 4 days, and just now finished planting them. Did not attempt to peel 'em.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Owen, I tried some of the seeds and they rotted. Good luck.

(Zone 6a)

OK. If mine rot too, will make good fertilizer I guess:)

Hmmmmmmm, wonder if I soak them in his cake mix recipe, will they be multi colored?

Cala,
give it a try..LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm sticking to water. That other stuff is too expensive. I'm still trying to get passiflora seeds to root and wish I had soaked them in OJ before planting. Oh well, tiG, will probably be needing that capsularius plant this spring!!

Spelled that wrong....capsularis

lovely colors, you're taking down names for future trades right? put me down for one each. I have a red and white polka dotted one that I can trade, and another really cool lime green with aqua blue starz on it. It is a very very rare one, I imagine as rare as your cobalt blue and violette ones...Let me know when I can expect yours, and I'll just go ahead and mail yours out.
thank dear for a great great new addition to my brugs.
