Good morning, everyone! How are y'all doing? We stuck to our calories yesterday, but didn't quite get our exercise. We were in the car and on our way to the bike trail when we saw friends of ours heading the opposite way in their car. They motioned toward us to follow them home. We ended up visiting for a couple of hours and never did take our walk! But it was good renewing an old friendship and catching up on the latest news; that's what really matters most in life, isn't it? :) More below...

Today's Scripture: Psalms 57:3 -- http://bible.whitinger.net/showverse.php3?vid=14772
There are going to be days when we feel we just can't do it. Everywhere we turn, there is another temptation, another chance to blow it. Occasionally, we might even give in, but that's no reason to give up. Part of being human means we won't succeed every time we try something. That's okay. When we find ourselves in situations where we give in, that is when we need to call on God, asking for forgiveness, strength and determination. God shall send forth His mercy and His truth, and we will be able to pick up from where we left off and do even better the next time.
Today's Thought: Losing one battle doesn't mean I've lost the war!
That part about God sending His mercy and His truth got me thinking: What does that mean? I know I sometimes breeze through things I read without really thinking about what I read. So when that phrase stuck out to me, I thought about it and I'd like to share with you how I applied it to our common struggle here.
What does God sending His mercy mean? To me, it's God saying, "My child, don't lose hope! I'm with you and I forgive you. Let Me help you get up and start over."
And God sending His truth says to me "Don't listen to the lies which say you're worthless, that there's no point in trying, that it's too hard. With Me all things are possible!"
