Seed germination

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I still have the 3 pink x double white seedlings growing.I put them in seperate pots under grow lights. But none of the rest seem to be germinating. What is everyone elses experience with germination?I know some can take a year to germinate, but has anyone had some germinate, and others,of the same batch, germinate later?Don't know if I'm holding my breath for something thats not gunna happen.(picture is from my versicolor peach that bloomed last summer.Stll waiting for the pod to ripen)

I have had some seeds take about a month to germanate after the frist ones started to. but I must say that I only started seeds from valley grow and the ones I have gotten from you C.C. which is only about 45 seeds total but have had a 100% germanate rate maybe beginners luck

Mine have done like Pete's. They all went into identical peat pellets and were in the same germination tray, same sun, same amount of water (though I rarely had to water with the top on). I'm not throwing any pellets as I still have some sprouting. I guess we are both having beginner's luck Pete, as I've had at least 80% germination.

I've been having the same thing happen CC. Some have popped right up while others in the same batch haven't even sprouted yet. I dunno if they'll come up or not... I've also had a few headless seedlings come up? I know I've pulled the heads off a few trying to pry off the stuck seed coat. But a couple have just sprouted with no heads?? What's up with that?

Me too,but those eventually died,the one lived 2 months...Just a stem,I don't know what caused it.

CC, a snail could have eaten the top before you saw it. I had that happen. The seeds from you were the best, 100% germination and all within a week of each other. The ones from BusyBee and TiG, a little more sporadic. the ones from Earl, the worst to be germinating all month long, but they were mixed seed.

I'm getting the same results....slow.

My Butterfly cross and Sang seeds came right up but all the others are slow and sporadic.

I started some seeds on the 7th that I got from Arlene and nothing yet. Also started some extras from Eric and only one is just starting to peek through. I'm hanging in there because with all the seeds, something has to start showing up before long. They can't all be empty. Have some others that I started later than that, so will have to give them more time too.

i started some seeds on the 6th, no sign of life yet

I started some on the 2nd, couldn't stand it and last week, picked a couple of them out. The seed was swollen and not rotted, so I put them back. Practice saying this word "Patience" over and over.

CC, the seeds you sent me are doing great!!! I just transplanted some into gallon pots today. Very vigorous. Thanks so much.

Maybe that ocean breeze is something we need to import.
