Goldfinger Plant?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I couldn't remember the Latin name for this plant. Has anyone found a source for these yet? I have the yellow one ordered, but would like to find the orange. These will satisfy my need to grow sangs just in case mine die.

Anyone reading this, it was glory8b who wanted it. GW-Tropical Plant Exchange, not Tropical forums. First page, 3rd from bottom, Jan 7.

That was me...posted it before I found out Arlene was trying to get one....no action on it anyway. Speaking of Arlene where is she?

Guess we better give her a yell.

Glory, here i am. i haven't asked the nursery to find it yet, forgot to take the name with me when i picked up my iochroma. will call them tomorrow, they are open then, another SR...kinda hoping to find them in homedepot as they would be cheaper, but will go ahead and ask them to order me 2, if they show up later at HD, well, guess i might buy more. they are really pretty.

Arlene...thanks

I believe Logee's has Juanulloa Aurantiaca-Goldfinger Plant.

Thanks Barb, that is where I ordered the yellow one, but thought I had seen pictures of an orange blooming plant. If there is such a thing, and I'm sure there is, they just aren't available around the US. At least from companies that are online.

Isn't the orange one the picture on Logee's new 2002 catalogue?? looks like it to me. I thought that was what they were offering. Guess I need to double check. Dee

Check this link and see if you don't think there might be a yellow and and orange as well. Maybe my eyes need to be checked, but this looks really orange and the one at Logee's looks yellow to me.

Hope the colors aren't messed up on my computer, but nothing would surprise me.

Ms Brugie, looks like it may be J. mexicana instead of aurantiaca

I think you are right, Arlene. That picture doesn't make it look as attractive.
