Roadrunner Your Preview Pane

Or should I say Preview Pain? ;o) I just ran across this article about how to get the preview pane back in Windows. It's kinda involved, but shows everything step-by-step. I wish Windows 98 would make the icons for graphics into little thumbnails of the actual picture, like Windows XP (or is it ME?) does. That's a neat feature. I'm trying to find a freeware application that will do this for me since it will save me a lot of time in finding images.
