What is "Kyle"s Pink"

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Arlene sent me a cutting of "Kyle's Pink".Whose hybrid is this?Is this one a Kyle Courtney hybrid or is it one of yours Brugman? If it's yours Eric what is the lineage?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'll bet it is Kyle Courtney's hybrid. He lives not too far from me and I've been tempted to write him and ask him to come join us. However, not something I want to do without others approval. The last time I talked to him he said that he was disappointed in some people from the south that were supposed to be sending him some plants and they never arrived. He should get to know this bunch. Probably have to re-arrange the furniture.

Yep Brugie, this group is unique.I have never known a more helpful and generous group. It seems that in trades here, you always get more than was expected.

tiG,

Sorry I jumped so quickly thinking that just because it was named Kyle's that it had to be a Courtney Hybrid. Glad I didn't come out and say IT IS......I've chewed on my food before though.

Kyle works at the Botanical Center in Des Moines. He is kind of hard to get ahold of, but will read my mail at some point.

It will be great to have Kyle here. I think he was the first overseas hybridizer I heard of and I admired the creations he made 100`s of times at the Native H.

I sent Kyle an email tonight, invited him, and asked him to let me know if he was going to join us. Don't get excited if he doesn't respond for a while though. One time I wrote it took nearly three weeks for him to respond. Other times, very quickly. Once he wrote me a letter on paper, and I'm telling you, for a guy, he wrote a heck of a letter. Okay, just wanted to let you know I wrote to him with the invitation. Didn't mean to write a book here.

Good of you to invite him Brugie. Now we'll just hope that he'll want to join us.

Thanks for inviting him Brugie, he'd be a great asset.

Hey Everyone,

I just brought in my mail and there was a message from Kyle. He WILL be joining us. He said that it will take about ten days as he is sending a check for his subscription. So, in a while be watching for "Eclipse" to join our family of brug nuts. :-)

Brugie, what charm you have!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

very cool!!!! Now when Monika gets time, maybe we can get her too!! think of what all will happen in this group this year!!!!!!!!!!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Brugie, It must have been your smile that did it. :)That's great news.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Snow, I kinda doubt he could see my smile. In fact, I'm not smiling much this morning. My favorite Great Aunt passed away. Just got the news a few minutes ago. She was 92 and had a good life, so we celebrate that aspect.

Oh Brugie, I'm so sorry. It's so hard when you lose someone dear to you. (((((Brugie)))))

Kyles pink is a Candida x Candida and it looks almost pure versicolor. Very slender and bloomed its first year from seed. I named DR.D after my son Damian, Kyle's pink was named after my other son Kyle. Amber Rose was named after my Daughter.
Kyle Courtney...now he is a great hybridizer. I don't think theres to many people who haven't heard of his amazing creations. I hear he has some doubles in color on the way as well. I think it would be a valuable learning experience to have him here.

Great names Eric, and I'm sorry that I almost assumed that Kyle's meant Kyle Courtney. Guess I got that from Kyle's Giant White. Now for a question. I got some cuttings from you that are marked with something like DxS L. Will you be putting a name to these or are they to always go by the letters? If you don't name it, I'll probably have to call it Eric's something. I'm not good at remember letters.

Those are marked with the parentage-DR.Sues x Solid Gold. L=left, M=middle, R=Right. 3 Different seedlings that all bloomed within their first year. I won't be offering those 3 again. DxS m has the best form, but the color ranges from a light creame to an orange depending on the time of year. The other two have a nice form and the color is better, although the tendril lenght is not as good.

Good job, Shirley!

This will be a great asset to have Kyle Courtney on our team.

I'm looking forward to doubles.

Shirley,
Thanks for talking to Kyle Courtney.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Eric for that information. I'll keep the information and for my self will just call it Eric's Alpha. I hope that Kyle will enjoy it here. I don't know why he shouldn't. Can he read posts now at all? I remember when I first signed up I could use the whole place, but after a month, had I not paid my fee, would have lost some of the advantages. Has that changed?
