Pete - those are great looking seedlings. How old are they? I have one little seedling that has barely popped its head. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the others. These are the first seeds that I have planted and I was so happy to see that little green head.

Hi Pete,

Good looking seedlings!! Are you going to plant them all in the yard you bought that came with a house and brug already in place? :-)

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

BrugNanny they are about 10 weeks. Before you know it they will be all up. I had some that took almost a month to germenate so just hang in there

Irish, can you post a picture of just 2 plants side by side showing the different leaves. I am worried that I got some seedlings mixed up in transplanting.

WoW, how come mine aren't that big???

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Cala, I've been wondering the same thing! am I not feeding my babies enough? what am I doing wrong?

Gilmer, TX

I thought mine looked great until I saw these, and mine are older. What are you feeding these things Irish?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

TiG, I know my babies from CC aren't nearly that big!! I gave mine some Osmocote, may have to splurge and give them something else.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

am wondering if they have several sets of leaves, can you overfeed them? would hate to lose some of the ones I have going now, but would love to see them looking like this.

Some of mine are this big and I haven't fed them anything.I'll post some pics later.

Wish I had a couple of those big HID lights like you use Jeanne. I just have a small one, but they do really put out the light. It is strong enough to help a plumeria bud and hopefully bloom. I have little gro lights, but I know they don't do much more than maintain. The arborea you sent me is doing great under the gro light, and the rest are in the bay window and looking good. Well, Flava is compost now, but all in all, everything is ready to go for spring. Do you have your seedlings under light?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Ladies, it's probably the fresh florida air. can't wait to see what irish says.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

hey, they look great, its gotta be that florida air cause none of my seedlings look that good!!!I think their mama should come down there. Will I look that good after being there??LOL

Let me think of what I did I know I used mirco grow potting mix with almost 50% perlite(I though a hand full of each in a bucket until I get the amount I need and after they germanate I feed fishey stuff and peters 20/20/20 once a week and of course being in the sunshine state helps a lot. I did think that these were a little slow because it's been so darn cold here for a few weeks
Brugcrazy I will post a pic of just tow next to each other soon going to put some in the ground this sunday. working a lot of over time right now or would do it sooner so I take a pic then
brugie...most are going in the yard I think what to see how they do before I decide were to plant them.
Pete

Thanks Irish, whenever you get around to it is fine with me.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Pete, how soon did you start them on fish diet??

Tig, be careful using fish fertilizer in the greenhouse. It tends to go moldy. If you water them with tea, that seems to fix it though. It also stinks in the greenhouse. JMHO

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I started them about a week after they germanated just a couple germanated after I atarted to feed it didn't seem to hurt them at all

Jeanne, I'll remember that. my DH hates the smell of alcohol and tea tree oil too, so I spray first thing in the morning and it's usually gone by the time he gets home.

TiG, burn candles, especially vanilla to get rid of odors.
I gave mine good dose of 20-10-20. It was warm and sunny today, I sure hope it helps my little babies grow.

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

Alrighty, the tea, is this the tea tree oil, or the left over good 'ole southern sweet tea?? Dee

Dee, that's watering them with plain ole tea. Tea tree oil works wonders for lots of brug stuff though, as a fungicide, for fungus knats etc.

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

Gee, thanks. Dee
