Just wanted to verify with you experts that this really is the time to pick??? It's the right one.

Looks close, but I'm no expert,is it feeling mushy at all?

I think it is ready, but suggest that you verify my opinion by asking Cala or Brugmansia.

Wow, lots of pods. Who is the Momma and Dad? Looks to me like the one on the right is just about ready to pick. Can you feel the seeds inside. Get Cala over, she'll pick it for you. LOL

I know if Cala were here, there would be a slit in it and tape around it. LOL! I've tried hard to keave it alone. Dad is frosty pink and I believe Mom is Charles Grimaldi/Jutner orange.

Deanne, it is certainly yellow, you may have seeds sprouting in there already (just kidding). check the one behind it, the smaller pod with the litle markings on it like the stems get.... the crease is yellowing there also. i don't know that anyone ever answered the question if you can wait too long, guess not. But check that little one in the back, see if it is getting soft like the yellow pedunculated one. I hope eric will be behind to correct me, i am pretty sure he says dr suess X frosty pink put out a lot of white seedlings, not sure but the CG/FP might too. i can't tell the difference in dr suess and CG/JO. you sure have patience, can't wait to see the pic of the seeds.

Deanne, nice pods (no slits with bandaids on them) YES, YES, YES(sounding like the girl in the Herbal Essence commercial) pick that pod with the yellow pencuncle!!! I've been waiting weeks for another one to pick. I can be there in 8 hours!!! The little one is just doing the JO/CG thing with the bumpy thingies, but that one on the right with the yellow pencuncle is READY!! You go Girl!!

OK,I've been dying all day,did you pick it?Are there lots of seeds, was it ripe?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Deanne, i'm dying to know too. the one in the back, even though it seems smaller (maybe just my eyes), the stem not only is speckled like the stalk but the shape is different and the joint appears yellowed, almost looks like part of the seed pod went up inside the stem, is there more than one dad? that may be your next ripe one. please post a pic or give us a seed count. and thank you for thanking me....bells going off, more seeds out the door!

Sorry guys....haven't had a chance to get it yet. I will take pictures though and post. I see what you are saying about the little one in the pic. Yes there were some different dads. One not in the pic was from a very pale yellow dad.

Ok, you guys shamed me into going out there with a flash light. I picked it. 196 nice dark brown seeds. Pic in another thread!!

Yesterday's green pod is today's brown pod? It happens that quickly?

Franktown, CO(Zone 5a)

Liz, the pod stayed green but the seeds were brown and the penduncle was yellow and squishy.
