I need your help and I was not sure what kind of soil I should use to start brug seeds with. I have Miracle Gro potting soil and start seeds mix. Your help will be appreciate. Thanks..
what kind of soil???
Mini,
For fine seeds I use a seed starting mix or mix together about half and half vermiculite and potting soil. However since brug seeds are fairly large, I would think you could use either mix you have on hand. Heck, do some in each and see which you get the best results with. I'm starting mine in Pro-Mix right now and it would be fairly similar to the Miracle Gro. Good Luck and don't give up. Takes some time for some seeds.

Thanks.. I am going to try that.. today we are going and buy the heating pad and waiting until they come up.. Never grow seeds from BRUG.. It will be my first time....
Mini, You're gonna have so much fun watching them grow.
OH yes I am and one problem is I dont have no room for them to grow.. guess on kitchdn table.....floor.... blah blah.. HELP ME I dont have green house.. LOL
welcome to the club Mini!! I had one full seed tray that needed potting up today. Well, now it's left me with 3 trays of pots instead of the one!!
Back to the store for more lights, and drag out the electric blanket to keep them warm. Next year I won't be in this situation, my babies will have their own home. But I sure do wish spring would hurry up!!
LOL MINI... me too. he he he
You can use outside which u made little plastic cover for brugs to keep warm and make the shelf to use seeds to grow better than nothing for now.
RedRose. I guess I will have to do that outside and use my plenty of plastic clear cover..... plus light to keep them warm...... I think I got a idea.....
Just don't do what I did today. I couldn't stand it, I'd had some seeds planted for 8 weeks and no sprouts.I dug them out and tried to peel the cork like cover off. They had little sprouts inside and I'm sure I killed them. guess I'll learn to keep my hands off!!
Cala!!! It is hard to stay out of things when they aren't doing what you think, isn't it? I peeled some seeds that had soaked a few hours though and if it will make you feel better, some looked like they had sprouted inside the corky bark too. I think in my case it was something that had happened during the time they had just sit waiting for me to get up the energy to plant, yes, just a few more.

LOL.. I know it is hard to stay away and wait.. I guess Cala can't wait..LOL.. I would do the same thing but I am going to be wait and until they come up.. Lots of wait and patience..........
OK OK I learned my lesson. I'm keeping my hands off.
