Question regarding taking cuttings of stephanotis

Hamilton, Canada

I have a 3 year old plant that is HUMONGOUS and did not bloom this year. Has anyone taken cuttings from this plant and how did you do it?
Need help on this one.

I've taken lots of cuttings, only had one root. It was a tip cutting about 4 inches long that I begged from a green house that grew them for wedding flowers. That plant was planted in the ground at the peak of the green house. It grew to the top with a trunk like someones leg, and went almost to the far end of a 100 ft green house. When it was in bloom, I would just stand in there and covet that plant!! The owner gave me a few cuttings and one of them rooted for me. A few years ago, during an ice storm, the glass house the original plant was in broke and the plant froze. It was a sad day. Mine didn't bloom much last year. Someone said you have to leave the little "nubs" from previous blooms on them. I don't think mine got enough sun either.

Cala,
I have lots of fresh young green shoots so I'm going to try and root them. Did you dip them in rooting hormone and then in potting soil? Were they done with the plastic baggie method?

I did use rooting hormone. They were in pots under lights.

Joydie...the Stephanotis and the Hoyas are actually in the Succulent Family..you can do layering of the leaf node, semi-woody stem cuttings in the summer(they say, this is the best time for roots to strike!!! I have tried the leaf method(taking a leaf, callusing it off till it developed little roots(resembling whiskers) and planting straight into sharp or washed sand..then transplanting when you see the little bits of green coming up at the base..good luck!
