windy day

got home from work and not only did the leaves blow off I lost over a hundred buds what a bummer:o(

That is a bummer! just lost oak leaves around here, knocked the dead cannas over....

I know how you feel Irish. A couple of years ago I had a sang. that was really looking good. I went shopping with a friend and when we got home there had been a storm and my 3 ft. sang. was now about 4 pieces. I tried to use the cutting material, but it didn't take and it took a while for the plant to recover. Then the hot weather killed it anyway. Still makes a guy sick to see it happen. Fortunately they do make good recovery and pretty quickly.

Oh my Irish, that's really too bad to lose that many buds. I hope your plants recover quickly. Were any of the buds ripe enough to salvage the seeds?

I wonder if you float a bud if it would bloom?

I've tried putting flowers in water and they wilt very quickly. They like to be on the plant, it seems.

Bummer!Sorry Irish,I know how you feel,when I brought mine in in the fall the S.Pink and my Yellow/orange were loaded with buds,most of them fell off in a week!

Well on a good note there are a few buds left when they bloom they will be easy to see...Just got one more cold nite to get through and will be back in the 60's tomarrow afternoon. Can't beat a florida winter....
