Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

It looks as tho I'm the early bird today for some strange reason. It is COLD here this morning. The same light coat of snow that we got yesterday morning is still covering the ground. It's been such dry winter here.
We're off today for VA appointments for Jack. Maybe I'll get to see KathyJo and her dh. They both work right across the street from the VA hospital & clinics. However, I usually feel I need to stay with Jack so I can make sure he tells the doctors everything he should tell and that we get all the information from the doctor straight. He is so forgetful and confused when he is in the doctor's little office. Often it's because he has gotten past a meal or snack time and his blood sugar is going down rapidly. If I'm there, I can go get him a few bites to eat and he won't miss seeing the doctor when they call him the first time and have to wait longer to see him.
We got the 1/2 bath flooring down for good last night and the boys cut the ceiling piece of paneling. It had gotten bowed from standing on edge in the garage so it spent the night on the garage floor with weights on it to flatten it again. Today it will probably get hung. Then the stool can get put back in there and the room will once again be functional. And we won't have to scoot the stool around constantly to be able to get to the bunnies, Thomas, and the washer & dryer. We're all quite tired of that stool being in the way.
I have to get busy and finish bagging the recyclibles to take to the recycle center we use. Of course I'll see what treasures someone else considered trash.
Shad's mom knows of a lovely antique shop/flea market in the Blue Springs Shopping Center so we went there yesterday. The prices are quite reasonable for most things. Her dad and Shad went thru parts of it with us. There is an antique car section which is wonderful. They had a lot of old tools for sale and Jack was able to explain some of them to Shad & Kris. She bought a small item & I got a pink glass spagetti canister with the metal bail on the lid. Then we went to a dollar store and got some items. They had a large plastic seive I thought would be handy for washing aquarium gravel. Kyle was sure glad to see that. I got a votive that I'm hoping will work as a garlic jar. It's solid with some small holes and a lid. We ate supper at Pizza Street. Nice clean place, $2.99 for all the pizza you can eat. Several thin crust pizzas, some the dessert type, a small salad section, and soft serve ice cream.
The day's work is calling and the bird feeders are nearly empty again. We are feeding a lot of birds again this year. All I put out is black oily sunflower seeds so we don't have a problem with Starlings.
GOD bless and keep all of you.
