Dr. Seuss is in trouble!!

Carbondale, IL(Zone 6a)

I have a rooted Dr. Seuss cutting (well not too rooted, really just one big root), and it was doing great when it got here. It started losing leaves; I've found that this is normal. Then it started wilting and looking really pathetic. I had transplanted it and moved it to a sunnier location, but that was about a month ago and no improvement! Any suggestions! This is the only Dr. Seuss I've got and I really wanna keep it alive! Anyone out there that could help me?

could you be overwatering? they love water in the summer, but don't like it too much until they are pretty well rooted. Is that one you got from me? I can get another by spring.

sounds like too much water to me too. it has been wilted for a month and hasn't died yet???

I too have had some do this and bounce right back....don't throw it away unless it truns to mush.

I hear that Dr. Seuss looks a lot like C.G. and Jutner Orange, so I let my daughter talk me out of a pink, my Dr. Seuss, and one of my prized Jessie Noels.

Have you checked it for spider mites also? Heard today that this has been a horrible winter for them in our area and I have been fighting a few of them.

I have a couple of Dr Seuss cuttings that are currently rooting in water. Checked yesterday and the roots are pretty long. I think it might be time to put in pots. The cuttings are about 6 - 10 inches long. If any needs one let me know and I will send out. You should have seen the momma these came off of. She was approx 12 ft high and the biggest flowers I have ever seen. Dee

Dee,
I sent you an e-mail concerning the DR. Seuss cuttings you are offering...and tiG, that is the DS you sent,(THANK YOU:)))) but I my inexperience with not really-really rooted cuttings is nil, so I think I drowned the poor thing. Everything else you sent is amazing!! Growing like a toe fungous in a high school locker room; even the P. foetida seedling!!! (It's a good thing.) Thanks again for all the info...

Oh my goodnes, now I want that one too. Gloria, you have some of the nicest pictures. Once I get the hang of growing these I am just going to half to learn how to cross pollinate (??)these beautiful babies. I think I need to find some way I can still have the same income but just stay home (sigh)

Frannie, yes you can have one. Send me an email with your address. I have to mail a couple tomorrow and would like to send your at the same time. I live bout 30 minutes from town and post office so when I am off work I don't get to the post office. Dee

Dee,
Would you like me to bring you a Jessie Noel to the swap in March? I have one I just potted up today and by March it will be big....hope it will fit in the back seat with Roz...LOL...I'm sure it will.

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

Oh Gloria would you?? I have aurea gold and a Charles Grimaldi cuttings, now all I have to do is learn how to marry them and make babies. I have been making a list of things that I have. My hubby thinks I have now definately lost all sanity. Imagine making an inventory list. I have just confirmed to him there is no hope left for me. I just tell him though, look at it this way, I could be collecting something a whole lot more expensive. Thanks a bunch. Dee

Glory, you should watch Roz and the brugs. When I went to her house, she had all the leaves stripped off and laying on the ground. I think she was drying them to smoke or maybe make some kind of tea.

Cala,
Sometimes you have to watch Roz. LOL Just joking Roz we all Love you!!!
