Sorry, I meant sniffle. I have caught a huge cold. Just wanted to say that hubby has my next light stand almost complete so maybe more of my brug babies will grow up to be big sooner. I did lose one of my sangs, but another one has started peeking through the ground. That means that I got 100% germination from them now. Now, just to get one of them to become an adult will be quite an acomplishment for me. Planning on growing it in the house as even here in zone 5 it gets way to hot for them.
Okay, time to blow or I'll be dripping on the keyboard.

I guess I am sniveling. Poor me!
Sorry I stole your word, CC. Just thought it was cute and pertinent. :-)
Can I snivel a bit?
I can send you some tissues,in your case I'd recomend puffs! And yup ,you have the right to snivel!!
Snivel away Brugie! Curious about how your hubby makes the light stands. Does he build them with wood? Congrats on the sangs! I hope they do well for you!! I planted some too but no sign of life yet. They may have overheated with the heat mat mishap.
Have a bowl of chicken noodle soup for that snivel!
Speaking of sangs, mine all of a sudden today started dying(I think)all but the little tiny new leaves wilted and I'm talking sudden. It didn't look like that yesterday. Can't see any pests,no sign of rotting or black on the stems, the soil is damp, but not wet,I haven't watered it since last monday,it is in my upstairs bathroom, not to warm, southern exposure, sky lights.......WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!!Should I cut it off, trash it???Leave it alone?I think its reacting to my sniveling.......And Brugie, put garlic in that soup!!!
Brugie, you must get well!! Take echinacea right now and chicken soup and hot tea!! works for me anyway:)
I got sanguinea seeds from Earl and they all sprouted but they won't stand up! Now what do I do about that? They keep growing, getting good light, it's certainly not too hot, so what is the answer? If I can't grow them in the winter, I certainly can't grow them in the summer!!
........Brugie, take a couple of good doses of Nyquil and you'll sleep right through it!
"eyes"
That's weird. I wonder if they like it cooler than other brugs in the seedling stage. Just guessing tho - I really don't have clue.
Hey Everyone, you have made me feel better already. Well, emotionally anyway. About the sangs. I thought mine were looking a little bad so I moved them off the heat. Duh, I wasn't even thinking about them being cool growers. They are looking okay now. However, when they first came up and I had to remove the hull, I was a bit nervous. They were tougher than I thought. They grew a little crooked for a bit after that, but now are looking very straight and have four true leaves. Nice and green. I don't water often either, but I do mist them once in a while. Like once a day. Maybe the dying problem is "damp off" and for that, when I first see signs of it, I use Physan 20. It is a greenhouse disinfectant and can be used on plants. I even soak my new soil in it when I have seeds that I really want to make it. Can be used as a spray on seedlings to prevent damp off too. I think I got it through Charley's Greenhouse. That might be spelled Charlies and they do have a web site.
Well, that was pretty long winded. Good thing I've got wind on the keyboard cuz I sure don't have much just breathing. Hope nobody gets this. It isn't any fun. I'm heading for a hot toddy. Jim says that will help a bunch. Hate liquor, but right now, I'll try anything.
Later.....S
Its good for you, make you strong like bull.....Thats what grandma said about whiskey
Boy,I hope those cold germs can't run down the phone lines.
I'm hoping to have a "well" winter.
I sure hope you have a "Well" winter because this is no fun. Have to be careful not to drip on the key board. Life is tough!! I'll live and be ready to get my hands in the dirt.
Brugie, I sure hope you are feeling better soon. I've got four sangs up, but my heat mat is set to 65, a little cooler than yours I think. I will see how they do and move them if necessary.
Brugie, Hope you feel better very soon.I must have strange sang. seeds as I had mine in a cool place to germinate and they did nothing. I moved them next to the woodstove which really warms the soil and three out of five seeds sprouted in two days.I'm really excited because all my seeds are starting to pop up. I planted some on 12/26 and 12/29 and they are already coming up.
I'm getting sprouts now too. The seeds from Busybee are popping up as are the seeds from TiG. My sanguinea seeds are coming up (only had 5) and still waiting on some I bought on E-bay from a girl in Oregon. I don't think they were very fresh, they have been planted over a month and still no sign of life.
I'm getting spoiled, if my seeds don't sprout within a week, I get mad at them. I know....patience....but :)
Brugie,
Moonshine (if not available regular whiskey), honey and lemon juice is suppose to help. My neighbor just took some last night and said it helped her. If you have a sore throat, use hot sauce (tablespoon, my husband gargles it, I just get it down, chase it with milk). If you take it when you first start feeling it, one dose usually does the job, if you wait, you might have to do two doses.
See,whiskey is good for you.....
Strong like bull
Irish, you and your racoons... did you hear the story somewhere kinda near you where the racoons were breaking into peoples houses, eating something and drinking beer?? apparently they clawed or chewed their way into cans of beer..... heard on the radio?
See,they know beer is good for you too....Probably eating chips and salsa..
You guys are funny. I needed a good laugh this morning. I did have a bloody Mary, does that count? Can't say I feel any better, but my nose isn't dripping as much now. I know that isn't due to the drink either, but I can pretend, can't I? That way I could have another this afternoon and not feel guilty about it. I bet you can tell, I'm not a drinker unless it is Pepsi or Coke. Maybe a little Iced Tea. Anyway, thanks for all your tips. Maybe I better print off this thread for when Jim comes down with this, cuz he surely will. Just afraid he doesn't need excuses to nip a little.
