cut my babies back, waaaaaaaaaaah! I had completely forgotten about a greenhouse ordering a hundred assorted, rooted brugs for this spring!! I have been in the Jungle House whacking them back (very carefully and selectively). At least they don't care what color they are. Bill is the one who reminded me about the order or I would still not have started on it.
I had to
Susie, would some of my seedlings help? not sure if they'd be big enough for your order though, but you're welcome to some.
I could send you some of mine but they would freeze, but later in the spring I can.
Susie,
got lots of the Insignis Pink...Let me know if you want them.
Gloria
Thanks y'all, but I've got plenty to take cuttings from. It's just that I hated to cut them back, but now that I have, there is a lot more light reaching the lower level of the green house and maybe the passion vines will do better. Everyone is so generous, thank you all for the offers. (I really do have plenty to take cuttings from)
Yeah, but you'll have to wait longer for blooms!!!
Oh God! I picture your situation. Could have been me, you know *lol* Cross my fingers for you, Cala, that you get something put together for them.
Good that they aren`t going into petitesses with brugs names *lol*
It is like here ... There is a label on the plant stating: Datura together with a packet showing (usually) B. insignis in white, yellow or pink color. All three colors carry the same photo, that have been very bad color-manipulated on a computer and printed out on small, thich paper boxes. The color and species rarely matches the contents : ) Good that Billy reminded you
Oh poor Cala! That must have been hard to do. I hope you didn't have to cut your seed pods off!
OH CALA.. POOR YOU AND HOPE NOT GIVE U HARD TIME BUT TRY RELAX OK AND TAKE YOUR TIME. SO SORRY!
I did cut a few pods off, not any of the good crosses, just JO to SW. I left the pods on the stems and stuck them in pots to root. It's worked a few times before, and thought it good to experiment. All this talk of experimenting has me wanting to get out the flasks and microscope to see what I can come up with. Wonder if Bill would turn over more green house space to use as a lab? I thought I was over this stuff when I finished college. I'm seriously thinking of taking some of those JO seeds that were plucked a little early and experimenting with them. It is very good that the green house that ordered them hasn't been here, lol. They don't really know anything about brugs except that they sell good for them. When they come later in the spring to get them, I will have the plants brought to the fern house so they won't be tempted by the brugs in my Jungle House.
