As we get new currency now, I thought would anyone want to have Finnish Markka coins... I can send 10 penniä and 50 penniä - you can choose... 2 X 10 p, 2 x 50 p, or one of both or how do you just want. I can send them for sase or just for nothing. Of course I prefer sase. I also have Finnish stamps if anyone is interested and I'm also interested in any plant/animal stamp you can share. Thanks..

Evert, I would be interested in some for my granddarling. It's a historic thing to change the currency of such a huge part of the world, and I think she might someday like to have them for their historic interest. I will gladly SASE, will you save her a selection? I haven't forgotten your stamps, they are in a package but I haven't been to the post office since finishing them. Did I ever ask you about sending Jianhua's stamps to you for you to re-mail, since I can't duplicate his address?

Evert, with USPS, as you have observed already, anything is possible, and they are famous for delays. It's so aggravating! I will watch closely for the package and will e-mail you as soon as it arrives.
OK. =) Once a letter has been lost, I sent i to MD. Finnish post is very fast...
I find that if I insure mail, it almost never gets lost. So I will insure yours. Then if the USPS dares to lose it, we can file for a payment, and I can collect many of the stamps again. Probably not some of the coins so easily, though.

I know you sent me a picture of the envelope before you sent it out but it never arrived. Actually I've forgotten all about it until I caught this thread again. The birthday card came though :o)

Flowox and others I sent the coins ---- I just remembered that I sent the coins by Economy (2nd class) mail. It takes about a month for them to arrive... So keep waiting.
Evert, do you remember the date you sent the coins? I don't want to nag, but it might be necessary to try to trace them. If they are lost, they might be lying in a postal facility somewhere until someone inquires about them. I have asked my local post office to look for them, but none turned up here. This makes me feel relieved that yours have already arrived, having been mailed 2-14, and a little worried about the ones you sent, since they were sent much earlier.

Odd... Do you remember when I mailed them....? As on winter surface mail can be very slow.
BTW Aimee, I think I sent the coins to 'W. University'. Shouldn't it have been 'N. University' ?

Sure, if we could... I think that they ship surface mail by ship on winter and they have not had so many ships or something.. available for shipping. Maybe - just a guess.
