Just had to do it

I couldn't stand it, I had to take the pods off and look inside. I will check each day for a few days, then plant some and see how they do. The seeds were white, but came loose when I shook the pod.

boy do i know what you mean. have 3 pods on VPX, itching to get into them, trying to wait. Cala, re the rot theory, i found a JO pod completely dried on the stalk, the seeds inside were very dark brown and best i remember were pretty dried... i have been trying to figure if the pods don't split how they reproduce, i think someone posted out of the book that they eventually rot, break open and germinate. i would just love to know how they reseed in the wild for sure...

Arlene that would be good to know. I wonder if any wild animals or birds help spread them?

FSH, TX

Water and air dispersal is what I have read as far as seed dispersal goes in the wild. I can tell you that if you let em rot on the plant they will dry and slowly fall out if the fruit is not to heavy.
