Hoping you all have the best brewg year ever!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

CC and others.......I'm a northerner and just wanted to say that when you think of me I'm Brewgie not brugie. :-) Sending wishes to all of you for a better than ever New Year. May all your brugs be better than ever.

Brugie

PS. What is the name of the brug in the picture you have posted here? It sure is a pretty one.

Happy New Year to all of my friends on this site. Wishing everyone the best of luck with all of our crosses. I pronounce brugmansia a cross between brewg and brug. Probably brueg. LOL

Happy New Year to all...hope all of your Brug dreams come true.

(Zone 6a)

Happy New Year to all the brewgies in here:)

I just noticed today....my very first brewg blossom buds, on my 16 in. tall Jamaican Yellow. Can't wait to see em grow and open up into beautiful fragrant flowers!

Glory, can you post a pic of your Ollie for us?

I don't know what it is,it opens yellow and turns that orange, blooms very late,no scent,& 7 1/2foot tall. Was the general consensus that its JO,CG or DR Suess

found in the archives, gotta be!

Brewgie *lol' I like that :) Happy New Year Brugie *lol*

btw. giant double you found there, Arlene :) Looks like a double candida was crossed with all knd of luck to a versicolor peach or orange. It is a killer beauty and I hope, that you find the owner of it or wish you all kind of success creating its like. Look at the size of the hands in the photo compared to flowersize ... a clear goal to strive for : )

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Tonny, i have bought one, well an anonymous person and i have purchased this one and the creamsickle. i feel like a proud mama....hope they get here healthy! course they are only a short ways from here....

candida X versi orange/ peach.... sound like a great goal to work for!

Oh Arlene, I'm so happy for you. I'm glad someone here got a beautiful double. It opens the door to all kinds of possabilities. Happy New Year to everyone and may next year bring us all the Brugs of our dreams.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Thanks Snow, happy to you. meant to tell you on another post how lucky you are to have a husband that helps and encourages you.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Thanks Arlene, I am lucky.A little over two yrs ago I went through a bad time of depression after having to take an accidental retirement due to a work related back injury.I missed my gardening and there was so many things I could'nt do anymore. Last winter he put up the greenhouse for me. No easy task in Feb.He built high benches so I don't have to bend and now I can grow all my plants.I grow them in the GH and he plants them in the garden. It was your FP Brug that got him hooked. When it flowered it was a toss up as to who was more excited. He's already planning where to plant the Brugs this summer. LOL

FSH, TX

Lol, Snowhermit. If he was impressed by FP...then wait till he sees and smells some of the more intoxicating Brugmansia like the Butterfly. I can't wait for Summer either though. With the new book I recieved from over the border I can finally know what I am talking about. Very informative indeed...although I think the pages on hybridization could have been done a bit better as there is much that has been left out as far as technique goes....
Many thanks this New Year!!!

Happy New year every one

Arlene,

So happy you are getting the double peach. It is a beauty. I will be getting Creamsickle in the spring from a friend. I'm tickled to be getting it. Is there no end to all of our wants? I've just got to have a sunroom to keep these brugs in over the winter. See, just one more want!!

Anyone watching football today? Not me.....I'd rather talk to friends and play in the flowers. Happy, Happy!!!!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Brugmansia, so glad it finally arrived. You have some very appreciative friends here at daves.
Happy New Year!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Okay, where have I been lately? I just noticed that Snowhermit and myself have green names and everyone else is blue.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

You're coming through blue here -

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Brugie, That must mean we have green thumbs. :)

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

When you click on a name ... like to e-mail someone, or view their trade list.... the color changes. It's one of Dave's tricks. It's great if you post something for trade and have to e-mail alot of people. You can tell who you've mailed and who you haven't.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I went to some of the other threads and Snow's and mine are always green. Suppose it has something to do with the brug contest? I wonder how long this has been going on and I just didn't catch it. Oh boy, it smells like Jim just made some popcorn. I'm headed out to get some so I can drop it on the key board while I'm drooling over the brugs/friends forum.

S.

Maybe that is it Snow, but if so, why can't I get my other tropicals to root for me?

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Brugie, I'm having terrible luck with tropicals and have decided not to get any more.I had a mouse dig into my $40.00 white Bat Plant and actually dug all the roots out.
I walked into my LR with a cup of coffee and saw all the chewed up roots on the floor.I took it out of the pot and discovered the mouse had buried bird seed in the bottom of the pot.I tried to save it but it didn't survive.Set a trap right in the pot and caught the little bugger when he tried to get in it again. Lost a large banana plant and a voodoo lily. No more tropicals for me.I'm going to concentrate on what does well for me and that is BRUGS, Brugs and more Brugs.LOL
