What do you think?

This is what I've been calling a Jutner Orange, but the seed pods just don't look like a versicolor. I tried to get photos in all stages of growth and also the seed pods. I tried to get a new bloom and one that's been open a few days and also one looking up inside the bloom.

Susie, jutner orange is not a versicolor, no matter what someone says on their website (BP). those pods look like mine.

this is what i think i remember, tig and somebody can help... monica says jutner orange IS charles grimaldi, she can't breed them.

on the main brug page i am almost sure i read that versicolors NEVER have serrated leaves.

i am relatively new at this, but i am positive jutner orange is not a full blooded versicolor. i believe it is the same cross as mr charles, from a different hybridizer.

i can sure be wrong as brugman will tell you!!!!!!

did you have time to price out the crystals? i bought some from watersorb.com i also got some of the powder for seeds since i am only good with the kinds that fall off plants and start themselves.... have you ever used this? sounds like you roll seeds in it and it will keep them moist? (rot?)

i have old eyes but the pods look the same on JO/CG/DrS to me.
thanks susie.

Monika is a long time breeder, and is very well known. She said that CG is the correct name for Jutner Orange, that someone in California sold it at a nursery under the JO name, but that it's the same brug.

TiG and Arlene, I knew that the leaves on CG, DR.S and Jo all looked about the same and JO and CG are identical. When I saw that they had JO listed as a versicolor, I began to wonder what I had. I do love the way this one grows and it smells wonderful. It's still putting on new buds. I couldn't help myself today, I pollinated those half opened blooms!! I used pollen from Jean Pasco. I do think Monica knows a lot about her brugs.
Arlene, you're going to shoot me. I had a Dr's appointment this morning, went back to the green house and we were wrapping our pipes because it's supposed to be in the low 20's tonight, then my little chinchilla that was sick met a bad end. I will call tomorrow, I am writing myself a note. I think the price at watersorb is better than what I could get it for here.

NOT GOING TO SHOT YOU!!!! Just curious, i went ahead and ordered the stuff. chincillas and pipes are much more important!!

It is thought that the serration on some versicolors is from aurea parentage mixed in somewhere.

Hmmmmmm, I just noticed, that looks like a page from a brug book. I think I will make a page for each variety of brug that I have. Start with leaves and follow a bloom from bud to seed. I could make them into a file and then if someone wanted to see a particular variety, I could just send it to them.
