suav. white pods

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

These are the pods on my suaveolens white. I pulled the calyxes off these and it doesn't seemed to have slowed them down any. I did notice where the calyx had constricted the pods, they were misshapen. This brug is more "floppy" than the others. The lateral growth is just that...lateral. I like how the stems hang down and it looks like it has blooms from bottom to top. I've used pollen from everything because I had so many pods. I just wish I had used a sharpie instead of an ink pen because now I'm having trouble reading what I wrote. I had no idea it would take so long for these to ripen.
Eric, I honestly think that rambling was contageous.

Not knowing what the daddy is will make it more fun for those who grow your seeds. Kinda like Christmas, just one surprise after another. You and Arlene are doing a great job with this hand pollinating. When do the lessons start?

Classes begin shortly after New Years.

I'll be waiting with baited breath. However I might have to use the frozen Frosty Pink pollen on the CG that Brugcrazy painted. Suppose that would work?

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Sign me up for the class. I'll have to take notes since I won't see a flower till next summer unless one of my little ones under the light surprise me.

Ahh, anyone tried cutting the pistil tip off when its dried up and applying the pollen directly to the newly wetted pistal? I have tried this a few times with apparent success. I won't claim its 100% though as nothing is generally 100%.

Brugman, you will be teaching a class too!!! I've never tried that, but now I will.
I will also check to see if any more of my rooted cuttings have buds on them or at least have made the "Y" and send them out for you guys to practice on!!

Cala-I don't teach classes-but I do give very freely the bits of information I have. I do hope many of you benefit from this information as many of my techniques can be used on other plants as well. Of course, I simply give this information out of greed. I want to see better Brugmansia hybrids out there...not only to see them, but to have them.
