I'd be grateful for assistance in identifying this tree, which is growing in a garden here in the Azores. The leaves exhibit an opposite arrangement along the branches and possess a leathery or waxy texture. They measure approximately 5 cm in length and have a simple, oval to lanceolate shape. A distinctive characteristic is the presence of vibrant red new shoots. The tree's overall height is around 6 meters. Unfortunately, it was not observed flowering or fruiting at the time.
