CLOSED: Need help on Texas wasp ID
It looks like a Polistes sp. - could be an aberrant P. metricus. See https://inaturalist-open-data.s3.amazonaws.com/photos/7120552/original.jpg and https://texasinsects.tamu.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2017/07/img350.jpg for 'normal' ones.
