Strawberry plants in a polytunnel

First year. I have grown my strawberries in a poly tunnel as I live in very windy, salt driven region. Fruiting finished so I switched off irrigation 2 weeks ago. Plants have died back. I have cut them back and now await the Spring! But do I water these troughs say once a week or just leave them totally dry. I am scared of losing my plants.

Strawberries do not like a lot of moisture, but even in dry soil the roots will die. Check the soil moisture at a depth of about 5-10 cm, keep it slightly moist.
I think watering once a week is enough in your case.
Now is the time to apply fertilizer, example these: https://globy.com/b2bmarket/listing/chemicals/products-fertilizer-317d8a
this will help plant growth

Growing strawberries in a polytunnel is a great way to extend your harvest season and protect your plants from pests and diseases. The polytunnel can trap heat, which can help your strawberries ripen a few weeks earlier than they would outdoors.

it can protect the plants to a degree from birds and other creatures that will try to eat your crop
