The first insect is a grass skipper (family Hesperiidae; subfamily Hesperiinae). See South Texas Butterfly Photos - Grass Skippers (carolinanature.com) for some examples. The second insect is a firefly (family Lampyridae); possibly Photinus pyralis - Texas Fireflies - Firefly.org
