I planted a bunch of wildflower seeds last year, and nothing came up. This year I have many of these plants. Is it a perennial wildflower or is this a weed? I would like to get rid of them if they are not a flower. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
Is this a wildflower or an invasive weed?
A wildflower (or wild blossom) is a bloom that fills in the wild, it was not purposefully cultivated or planted to mean it that way. The term infers that the plant is neither a half and half nor a chose cultivar that is any not the same as the local plant, regardless of whether it is developing where it wouldn't normally be found.
Did you keep the seed package which would list varieties so you now can search for leaf shape? It looks familiar to me so wouldn't pull it up, but can't recall a name.
Compare your plant with Rudbeckia sp.
Could be one of the asters.
Whether a plant is a wildflower or an invasive weed depends on whether it's native to the area and how it affects the local ecosystem
