Dear PNW experts,
Can I plant hollyhocks now? Scatter seed? Or plant?
I love flowers, but only get afternoon sun, has cedar tree canopy on most of our planting area.
Thank you

Knowing your location & zone would be helpful regarding sowing time. However, you can always start them indoors IF you have growlights.
Hollyhocks prefer full sun - so you'll want to site the plants accordingly in order to produce maximum flowering.

Hollyhocks do not grow from bulbs. Hollyhocks are often treated as biennials, but they are actually short-lived perennials with string-like root systems. They are typically grown from seeds (sown outdoors during spring or summer) or from established plants.
