Pod on JO

Here is a pod on my Jutner Orange. (yes it's legal, I've had it for more than 2 years) Don't you think it looks more like a suaveolens pod instead of a versicolor?

Cala: You're brugs are pretty randy, wouldn't you say. You're amazing with all of those seedpods. Congrats again. Remember me, I am allowed to get seeds into Canada, no phyto needed. LOL

WOW look good the shape more like as OKRA.

CALA, what is all about against law of Brugmanisa and why????

Rose, it does look like okra doesn't it?
It's on the thread about illegal trades started by aisnamgurb that everyone is talking about.

Cala, it certainly isn't a versi seed pod. the JOs, CG, DrS i have are all about the same shape, size varies..... the pods on my suavolens white i think are shorter and a little fatter. Ms. Brugie made a good point, seems like the seed pods take on the size/shapes of their genes....

btw, no pollen on culebra pod, have one opening will check in the morning, but i have a request for some for an aurea that i am going to send to first, just to let you know. have more pods if i can catch them at the right time.

do you have to have a license to swap pollen or hybridize?????

Arlene, wonder which one this is then. It starts out yellow, turns orange, gets very tall and smells wonderful when it blooms. It starts blooming in the middle of the summer and continues all winter if kept warm. It's leaves look like CG and DrS.

Cala, I do know that the main identifier is the seed pod. Will go now in search of link to chart, be back. Going for hybridizer license while I'm out.

here is one, but does anyone have the link to Richs' chart? (I think it's his)

Thanks TiG, I knew somebody could help identify this one. BTW, I got it several years ago at a nursery in Mississippi. They have been growing it for years. I've used quite a bit of it's pollen in hybridizing since I love the way it smells and also the amount of blooms on one plant. I had a plant this summer that must have had 50 blooms on it. The ones in the green house are still producing buds.
The only drawback that I can see is that the pods take forever to ripen. I've had two since Aubust/Sept and they still aren't ripe. I posted a photo of them, they are the ones I cut off the main trunk and brought in.

Rose, it isn't just Brugmansia, and it's not illegal to have them!!!! It's illegal to import them from other countries without the proper paperwork.

Cala, i called my big one JO cause a cutting karma sent me called JO looked like it when it bloomed.

I have all three, Dr Seuss from Earle, CG from JJsGarden and this other one and the pods all look the same to me.

I wonder how CG got to be so famous if DrS was its mom/dad? i am sure there is a difference but i can't find it.
