Albizia/Mimosa

Does anyone have this beautiful tree? They grow in abundance here in VA and I'm hoping to be able to get the seeds in the fall. Meantime if someone does have a spare one can you please email me. Thanks!

Hi Louisa! We seem to be developing an extended trading relationship here. I have plenty of mimosa trees around here. If you want seeds I'll get some for you. Our 12 year old son has picked up on trading and was trying to tell me to post the seeds. I giggled and thought nobody wants those. I eat my words AND owe him an apology. Tonight, I was just looking at the seedlings that are growing too close to my azaleas and thought I will have get them out of there. I don't see why I couldn't send you a tree. I have dug out a 12 foot one and moved to the front of our yard in the heat of the summer and it is doing well. That was a couple of years ago. Let me clarify*grin*you want a mimosa tree that has the pink fuzzy things on it, right?
Let me know,
Jennifer

Jennifer - I just had an email from Woodspirit about the mimosa tree and she thought they were a little tricky to transplant but will send me when the weather warms up. She is in VA also so maybe the babies won't suffer too much with the shock of the move. However, since you have had so much success with your transplants maybe I can call on you later for 'more stock' if you don't mind. I love these trees so much and they bloom for such a long time. Please mail me with instructions for their upkeep if you wouldn't mind because I had a 'baby' for two years in a large pot and then it just suddenly died. I was pretty miserable!
