Does anyone recognize this?

This is in my vegetable garden. I don't remember what I planted on this side of the garden, and I don't recognize this. The leaves have a mild pungent odor when they are broken off. Does anyone recognize it?

Could it be dill? Someone posted a similar plant on here and it was IDed as possibly dill though I think it might not have been. But dill has been in mind since. Yours is similar.

Yeah, it almost seems like a weed to me. I've been keeping an eye on them ever since they sprouted. I think I'll pull them up.

I believe it is dill. Fennel looks so similar but by the time it reaches the size of the taller plant the fronds start fanning out and there is a noticeable bulb at the base. Fennel fronds do have a lighter fragrance than dill.

I pulled them up. Didn't have anything of interest in the root area (wasn't a carrot). We never cook with dill so if it is dill we won't be missing anything.

If it's not the season to grow it I buy large bundles at the international market. I will begin thinning this patch growing between peppers and zipper peas in a few days. The plants will ultimately be over 4' and attract pollinators when they flower. Seed will be saved for next year.
