For many years now instead of throwing away old bread. I have been drying and crushing and placing it outside for whatever animal is hungry. Usually ends up with tons of birds. This year only Doves. and only one or 2,, no other birds. Did I kill them off or something going on that I have not heard about? Been doing this for 10 years.
Where are the birds?
I think it's the heat. It's been blistering hot this summer and the birds don't like it anymore than we do. At this time of the year there is a lot of their natural forage, seeds, nuts, berries and bugs. When it cools off and they've eaten all the other stuff they'll be back. Lisa - east central Nebraska
