Hello all,
In the near future I plan to move into some family property in central Ohio. The land is mostly forest that has been untouched for many years. We will likely cut some of this to expand the living area. Having always rented, I'd like to finally move into having a wide in-ground vegetable garden.
I don't know where to start in reading up and planning soil prep. I imagine the pH and what not of the ground is not ideal for vegetables.
I will likely have to hire a soil tester, no? What are these companies called? What kind of chemicals, additives, amendments can I expect to encounter? Do you have any links, or phrases I should search online for?
Thanks for the thought
