New here. Trying to figure out what this is. Unbloomed, seen purple flowers in same spot. Leaves not spiky. Milk thistle? Something else? Thanks.
Identifying weed
Sure looks like a thistle. Maybe Sonchus oleraceus.

Though the flowers are yellow not purple. It looks like a yellow spent flower in you photo.
There are purple thistles though, even some native to Oregon. You might google them to see if you find a match.
As far as I know milk thistle has highly variegated leaves, the white veins look like milk.
