OOOOOooo. I can't wait till mine get ripe. i see that the penduncle was yellow. Are the seeds a light color? Are you going to plant some before they dry out to see how they do?

they have dried, some are so little i just don't know...they were brown in the middle, X white the most, those look pretty good.

Arlene,
I must confess I sometimes have some seedpods that form yellow peduncles before the seedpod is ripe or the seedpods fail to mature all the way. This happens. Generally, the darker the seeds or the faster they turn dark upon exposure to air the better the seed. I too get impatient though and pull a pod a week or so early in the hopes of getting that one lucky one to germinate a few weeks early...it rarely works however and I just kick myself. Better to wait as long as one can possibly wait in most instances. Still, you may find they all germinate just find. I have noticed that when they shrivel too much though that is a sure sign one has picked too early.
