After touring the yard, i noticed that i have 1 pod developing on the candida dw that i pollinated with ep. i have 3 on one thats called mohan yellow (i received it in a trade earlier this spring, looks and smells like cg, but the flower seems to be a bit more petite. im waiting for a 2nd season of flowers to see if its the same or different). i also have about 6 or 7 forming on the jutner orange..father unknown (promiscious girls).
im aggravated that these things have had all year to produce and develop their pods, and here it is the middle of december, frost around the corner.
any suggestions on how to keep them alive during the winter? the jo im not too worried about, but i would like to save the one the dw and the few on the mohan yellow.

I had two huge pods on JO crossed with EP. I left them on the plant until a freeze was predicted. I cut the stem about a foot below where the pods were attached and trimmed off the tops, about 6 inches above the highest pod. I stuck them into poting soil in a full gallon pot and set them on the heat mat in the green house. I watered them in with a fungicide. They are still hanging on, it's been since late October when I brought them in. Mine were planted in the ground, if yours are in pots, just bring the pots in. Hope this helps.
mine are all in the ground. i think ill keep them out there as long as possible and cut per your directions when a freeze is predicted.
ususally by this time everythings been leveled by a hard frost. its turning out to be a very weird winter.
aint nothing like putting up a christmas tree and lights in 80 degree weather, lol
